Monsignor Ján Kuboš was born on February 28, 1966, in Nižná na Orave. He was ordained a priest in 1989. He earned his Licentiate in Canon Law (ICLic.) at the Catholic University of Lublin in 1998 and his Doctorate in Theology (ThDr.) at the Roman Catholic Theological Faculty of Saints Cyril and Methodius at Comenius University in Bratislava in 2002. Since 1997, he has served as a university lecturer at the theological institute in Spišské Podhradie. In the past, he directed the pastoral care of vocations in the Diocese of Spiš and served on the Liturgical Commission.
On March 25, 2020, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Spiš with the titular see of Quiza. On June 24, 2020, he received his episcopal ordination in the Cathedral of Saint Martin in Spišská Kapitula – Spišské Podhradie. He is currently a member of the Presbyteral Council, the College of Consultors, and the Commission for Holy Orders and Ministries. Since 2023, he has served as the Chairman of the Committee of the Society of Saint Adalbert.
